AHMADU, Mallam Ribadu

He won the 1959 Federal elections into the House of Representatives representing theAdamawa EastFederal Constituency underthe Northern Peoples Congress (NPC). In the cabinet changes thattookplace in 1965 afterMahmudu Ribadus death, AlhajiAhmadu Ribadu was named the Minister of State in the FederalMinistry of Economic Development. In the Second Republic thisgreat son of Adamawa also served the nation as NigeriansAmbassadorto theNigerRepublicandBurkina Fasso -ajob he diddiligently andmeritoriously. Later he was made the Chairman, Governing Council of the College of EducationJalingo. Alhaji Ahmadu also is apermanent member of the Adamawa Emirate Council and Jama'atu Nasril Islam. On the 13th April, 2002, the Federal University of Technology, Yola conferredon him honorary Doctorate Degree formeritoriou service to his fatherland. HediedinMay, 2003.
