Dr. Olowoporoku taught in many primary and post primary schools in the former Ondo Province before he became a Junior Research Fellow in the Institute of Administration, Uni versity of Ife, Ile-Ife. He later became a lecturer in Economic Development and Planning in the same University. He was, until his appointment, a member of the Board of Directors of the Ondo State Agricultural Credit Corporation. Dr. Olowoporoku has made sub stantial contributions to the academic world. Some of his pubUcations are: "A Critique of African Development Strategy with reference to External Economic Relationships" in the Jour nal of African Studies in 1977; "The Significance of the Controversies in the Theory ofWage Determination for Nigerian Situation", and the "Regional Problems and Policy Strategy for Indu strialisation in ECOWAS", (the Econo mic Community of West African States). Among the others are, "Natio nal Development Approach to Urban System in Nigeria" and 'The Teaching of Economics in Nigeria Revisited." Dr. Olowoporoku has served as the Secretary of the All-African Students Movement, University of Manchester; Secretary of the Association of Ife University Teachers; Treasurer of the Association ofUniversity Teachers, Ife Branch and Chairman of the Seminar Committee of the Department of Eco nomics. He is married with four children. His hobbies are reading and table ten nis playing; He was removed from office by the State Governor.
