Biographical overview
2005. He served as Chair/Head of the Department of Mass Communication, Dean of School of Education and Humanities, Deputy Vice-chancellor (Administration) at Babcock University. In addition, he was appointed the Chief Executive Officer of Babcock Centre for Executive Development (BCED), the business and consulting unit of Babcock University, from where he was appointed as the Provost, College of Management and Social Sciences. Professor Alao has for over ten years been serving as a Resource Person for National Universities Commission (NUC) in several capacities as chairman, or member of Accreditation teams to several universities in Nigeria, and also served as member of International Board of Education (IBE). He was nominated by the Seventh-day Adventist General Conference as a member of international accreditation team to the University of Eastern Africa, in Baraton, Kenya, and also an External Examiner for Mass Communication programmes at the University of Zululand in South Africa and more than ten universities in Nigeria. He has published more than 40 peer reviewed articles in reputable local and international journals, and ten books that are currently in use locally and internationally. Prof. Alao is also a Fellow of more than twelve reputable associations including that of the Nigerian Guild of Editors (FNGE), Nigerian Institute of Management (FNIM) and Fellow of the Institute of Customer Service and Trade Management (FICSTM). He is widely travelled and happily married to Mrs. Dorcas Ebun Alao, former Director of Nursing Services at Ben Carson Teaching Hospital, Babcock University, Nigeria, and blessed with four children, two boys and two girls.
