From 1946A9, Bida Middk School 1950-51, Government College Bida 1952-57, Syracuse University, New York, USA 1963-64, University of Nagqya, Japan 1956, Bartelk Institute, Berlin Gemjany 1966. AlhajiAbdullahi Umar's career was mostly in tbe Northern Ministy of Commerce andIndustry, where he distinguishedhimself as the officerresponsiblefor the establishmentofmanypromotionalbodies. Behveen 1962-63, he was invoked in setting up of the Industrial Developments Center Zaria under the USAID assistedprogramm 'from 1963-70, Organisation of Chambers of Commerce in Kano, Jos andSokoto" from 1964-67, establishment of small scale loan schemes and setting up of Industrial layouts in Gusau, Kano Bompai, Kaduna South andJos. In the North Western State where he served as permanent Secretay behveen 1973-76, he led the organisation andparticipation of the state in International Trade Fairs in TokyoJapan, Pospa Poland, Uipsig Germany, Minneapolis USA and Ugos. He also distinguished himself as Member of the governing bodies of NNDC 1970-74, Sokoto Cement 1970-75, Central Water Transport Corporator Onitsha 1973, Nigerian AirportAuthority 1983-92, NigerState Economic Council 1987-96, NationalC>»ncilfor Industry 1970-76, NigerState TrustFund 1991-96, ManufacturersAssociation ofNigeria 1998-2001. Since retirementfrom public service in 1976, he has been actively involved in the private sector with Investment Interest and direct substantial equity participation in Automotive Component Industries Umited Kaduna (Vehicle Parts) 'Emo Electrical Industries Ud., Bida (ElectricalAccessories) ACE Computers Ud, Kaduna (Computer and Communication), Schiroro Hotels Ud, Minna Hotels, Vespa Manufacturing Co Ud. - MotoryckAssembly, UACNJohn Holt, NBL and UNTL.
