AlhajiAbdullahi Umar's career was mostly in tbe Northern Ministy of Commerce andIndustry, where he distinguishedhimself as the officerresponsiblefor the establishmentofmanypromotionalbodies. Behveen 1962-63, he was invoked in setting up of the Industrial Developments Center Zaria under the USAID assistedprogramm 'from 1963-70, Organisation of Chambers of Commerce in Kano, Jos andSokoto" from 1964-67, establishment of small scale loan schemes and setting up of Industrial layouts in Gusau, Kano Bompai, Kaduna South andJos.
