MHA,MP: PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY FEDERAL MINISTRY OF EDUCATION, HEALTH Dalhatu Bida was bom in Bida town of the old Niger Province on the 20* ofJune 1926. Hewentfirst to Kyari Elementary Schoolfrom 1933 to 1937, the NigerMiddle School, Bidafrom 1937to 1942andfinally Kaduna College between 1942and1945. Before venturing intopolitics, Malam Dalhatu Bida was a Teacherinmost of hisworking life. Hegraduated to the position of Headmaster of the Second Bimin Kebbi Elementary School in 1950. From there, he joined the Northern Peoples Congress and contested election into the FederalHouse of Representatives, which he won representing^ Gwandu Central in 1954. He was later appointed Parliamentary Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Education between 1955 and 1957. He also won election into the Northern House of Assembly in 1960. He was again appointed Parliamentary Secretary, this time intheMinistry of Healthfrom 1964to 1965. After the 1966 coup de'tat which brutally terminated their government Alhaji Dalhatu Bida became a Community Development Officer in 1967 andlater Deputy Chief Community Development Inspeaor before his retirement in 1983.
