MHA OFR, GALADIMAN MUBI PROVINCIAL COMMISSIONER. Alhaji Dauda was bom injamtari, Bekl Distria of Adamawa in 1932 to the family of the Village Head of Jamatari Bekl, Javro Njidda. He started Ife with Islamic education according to the dirtates of his heritage. He later attended Bekl Ekmentary School between 1940 and 1944, Yola Middk School that sameyear to 1948, Clerical Training Centre Zaria for a Certificate in Secretariat Studies 1950 -1952 and obtained Dipkma in Administration at the Institute of Administration, ABU Zaria. In 1958 he ako did a course in NA Treasury Accounting. He was Scribe in tbe Native Authority Central Office, Yolafrom 1951 -1954, then StoreKeeper in theNA Works Department from 1954 to 1958. He ako worked as the Adamawa NA Treasurer in 1960. After the merger of tbe Northern Cameroon Trust Territory with Nigeria in 1961, he was appointed Treasurer of the MubiNA He ako took active part in the Northern Cameroon pkbiscate campaign and was ekaed into the Northern House of Assembly in 1961 representing the area. He was appointed the Galadiman Mubi in the early 1950's, Provincial Commissionerof'thethen Bauchi Provincein 1963 and redeployed in 1965 to tbe then Katsina Province until the 1966 coup. After the coup and as a trustworthy man with considerabk experience he was appointed Secretary of MubiNA and later Councilkr for Finance and Works. He was much later appointed Honourabk Commissioner of Establishment and later Heakh in the then North Eastern State of Nigeria. He was an active member of the then NationalParty of Nigeria. (NPN) and served as the Chairman Presidential Team NPN MuM Senatorial distria in 1993. He ako served as Chairman, Governing Council, Cocoa Research Institute of Nigeria, Member, Governing Council, Colkge of Education, Hong, Member, Gongola State Arts Council; Adviser, Jama'atul Nasril Islam of Nigeria, Patron, Bekl Devekpment Association, Chairman, FundRaising/Member, Board of Trustees, Mubi Local Government Development Appeal Fund, Member, Federal Government Visitation Panel on Land Dispute in Jalingo-Muri, Taraba State (then Gongola State). Dauda Bekl was a Direaor with Cbristela Cbemual Works Ltd, I^agos a company that was a major importer of chemicak and laboratory / hospital equipment. He was the recipient of a National award in 1979 when he was honoured with the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR), Dauda Bekl who was known to be generous and trustworthy died on Wednesday 3(f September, 1987 at the Yola Specialist Hospital after a brief illness.
