He also became the Secretary General of the Nigerian Trade Union Congressfror?t 1962 to 1964 and got ekrted to the powerful position of the Secretary General of the Northern Federation of Labour -aposition he held between 1964 and 1967 when the Militaryput a stop to Labour activities. His involvement in labour took him to most Socialist countries of the world especially the Soviet Union, China, Eastern Europe and Japan. He was in the USSR in 1961 to attend the International Conference in Moscow. He also visited the UK, USA, the Philippines, Canada, Lebanon, Sri Lanka and most of Africa, After the creation of States in 1967, the Ace Trade Unionist was named the North Central State Commissionerfor Establishment and Training and remained there till 1970 when he established his own business.He was however appointed Member, Board of Dirertors of the Ife University Teaching Hospital and Chairman of its Establishment andTraining Committee from 1980 to 1983. Alhaji Ibrahim was turbaned the Wambanjaba and Distria Head of Nok in 1990.
