Alhaji Jidda Haruna was born in 1932 at Monguno in Borno State. He schooled at the Damatum Elementary School (1938-1941) Borno Middle School (1942-1947), and the Bauchi Teacher Training College (1963-1964). He obtained the Middle IV Certificate in 1947, the Teachers Grade III Certificate in 1949, Teachers-Grade II Certificate in 1965. Alhaji Haruna was Headmaster, Gambam Primary School from 1954 - 1962, and Manager, Borno Holding Co. Ltd., from 1966 A moslem by religion, he married Hajja Fatima in 1961 and they have five children. From childhood, he made reading literature books his main hobby and source of inspira tion. He has travelled to countries like Tchad, Cameroun and Saudi Arabia. Alhaji Jidda Haruna represents Monguno Constituency Borno State in the House of Representatives and he is a member of the Great Nigeria Peoples Party.
