Hon. Alhaji MaiturareYabowas bornin 1947 at Yabo in Sokoto State. Alhaji Yabo isa muslim. Heisone of the 16 childrenof his father, Alhaji Abubakar, afarmer at Yabo. His motheris Balaraba Attah and had fourchildrenfor Alhaji Yabo'sfather. Alhaji Yabo got married to his wife Safiyatu, in 1975andthey hadachildin 1978. Alhaji Maiturare Yabo attended a number of educational institutions. These are: Yabo Junior Primary School (1956 - 1960); Sokoto SeniorPrimary School, Farfaru (1961 — 1963); College of Arts and Arabic Studies, Sokoto (1967 — 1971). He was a pupil teacher from 1964 to 1966. Alhaji Yabohas the following qualifications:Teachers Grade II Certificate; Teachers Inservice Certificate. Alhaji Yabo was a school headmaster from 1972 to 1974. He rose to the rank of Schools Supervisor from 1974 — 1976. He was pro moted to the rank of Education Officer from 1976 to 1978. Alhaji Yabo has visited Saudi Arabia and Niger Republic. His hobbyisfootball. He won himself a seat in the House of Representatives on the ticket of the National Party of Nigeria and represents Yabo, Sokoto State.
