In 1977, he transferred his services to the Nigeria National Supply Com pany (NNSC) as Company Secretary and Administrative Manager, the post he held until his resignation for active partisan politics with the lifting of ban on politics. Before he resigned from the Nigeria National Supply Company, Alhaji Mo hammed Goniwaselected to represent Kukawa Local Government Area at the Constituent Assembly in 1978. Eventually, he became an active member of the Nigerian Peoples Party (NPP) and later Great Nigerian Peoples Party (GNPP) and then nominated to contest for Borno State Governorship, and victory he got. Alhaji Mohammed Goni is married with four children, three sons and a daughter. His hobbies include debating swimming, horse-riding and gardening.
