GONI, Alhaji Mohammed

The Governor of Borno State, Alhaji Mohammed Goni was bom in 1941 at Kareto, Damasak in Kukawa Local Government Area of the State. He started his primary education in Damasak, then later attended Bomo Middle School (eventually converted to Borno Provincial Secondary School) from 1956-61 where he obtained the West African School Certificate. Alhaji Mohammed Goni then pro ceeded to Kano Government College in 1962 for his Higher School Certifi cate. Between 1964 and 1967, he was in the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and obtained a Bachelors Degree in Hiblic Administration in July, 1967. While in the University, he was President of the Students Union (Kongo) Institute of Administration in 1966 and President of the Borno Stu dents Union from 1962 to 1967.
