Alhaji Saidu Kanti Hadejia was born in 1942 in Hadejia. He is one of the ten children of Mr. Abubakar Dammadu,a messenger in the Emir's palace. Alhaji Hadejia started his elementary school at Hadejia from 1948 to 1952. Later, he went to the Senior Primary School, Hadejia from 1952 to 1955 and the Provincial Secondary School, Kano from 1955 to 1957. Alhaji Hadejia worked with the U.A.C. of Nigeria as tally clerk, storekeeperand Assistant Line Supervisor from 1957 - 1960. He then moved to the Hadejia Native Authority where he rose from the post of cashier in 1961 to that of a Treasurer Accountant in 1965. He held this position for over 10 years until he was ap pointed the Treasurer of the Hadejia Local Government in 1976. Alhaji Saidu Kanti Hadejia is married to Hajia Uwa, (Uwa Hadejia) and they have five children. He has travelled to Saudi Arabia and the Niger Republic. Among his many hobbies are hockey and football. Alhaji Hadejia represents Hade Constituency in Kano State in the House of Representatives and is a member of the National Party of Nigeria.
