in 1973, Senior Superintendent in 1975 and Prin cipal Electrical Superintendentin 1977. Alhaji Sani Abubakar worked in the Ministry of Works and Housing, Kano State from 1962 to 1978. Apart from serving as a public officer, Alhaji Sani was an active trade unionist. He was the Kano State Chairman of Public Works Con struction and Technical Works Union from 1973 to 1976 and Kano State Chairman of the Civil Service Technical Workers Union - 1976 to 1978. In June 1978 he became the Deputy Nat.onal President of the Civil Service Technical Workers Union of Nigeria, a post he held till July 1979. He is married and has five children. Honourable Alhaji Sani Abubakar is a devout moslem. He has travelled widely and among the places visited are the Soviet Union, Niger Republic, Mali, Algeria, Germany, Egypt Lebanon, Cameroun and Saudi Arabia. He is much interested in reading, farming and horse riding. "' w Alhaji Abubakar won his seat in the House of Representatives on the platform of the People Redemption Party (PRP).
