Honourable Alhaji Sarki Adamu Bappa was born in 1939 at Kano City. He is a member of the PRP and represents Dawakin Kudu Consti tuency in the House of Representatives. Honourable Bappa attended the elementary school at Dawakin Kudu from 1946 to 1950. He further went to the Kano Middle School from 1951 to 1953. He attended Kano Provincial Secondary School from 1953 - 1955, he also attended the Institute of Administration, Zaria from 1956 - 1957. From there, he went to the Luton College of Techonology, England, (1969 — 1971); he finally attended the Bolton In stitute of Technology, England, )1972 - 1975). Alhaji Sarki Adamu Bappa obtained his Clerical Certificate in 1956. He also received his Higher National Diploma in Marketing and Public Administration in 1975. He was employed by the Kano Native Treasury in 1957 as an Accounts Clerk and pro moted in 1961 to the post of a Chief Clerk. He became the Personnel Secretary to the Nigerian Ambassador in the Republic of Guinea from 1964 to 1966. Alhaji Sarki Adamu Bappa worked as a Stores Supervisor for UTC Motors Kano from 1967 to 1968. He served the Kano State Government from 1969 to 1974 as Senior Stores Officer and was seconded to Kano Tex tile Printers, a post he held till 1975 when he resigned to participate in the elections. He was a local government councillor gp till the last elections in 1979. Honourable Alhaji Bappa was the Principal Secretary to the PRP Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Aminu Kano. He has three wives and eleven children. His father, Alhaji Adamu Sarki Bappa had three children while Honourable Bappa is the only child of his mother, Hajiya Binta Usman. He has written extensively on economic development in Kano and he has travelled widely. He was been to Ghana, Togo, Liberia and Ivory Coast. Other countries he has visited are Sierra Leone, Guinea, UK, France and the U.S.A. He loves riding and driving.
