FEDERAL PERMANENT SECRETARY He was bom in Jos of the old Plateau on the 1f of August 1926. After his primary and secondary education, Sule Dede Kolojoined the League of Northern pioneers to receivefull University education. He read andgraduated with a Bsc. Degreefrom the London School of Economics and Political Science U.K. On his return to Nigeria, hejoined the Civil Service and rose through the ranks until he became Permanent Secretary in the federal Ministry of Defence within 1963 and 1966. he was moved to the Federal Ministry of Trade in the same capacity and served there during the Nigerian crises period. During this period, Alhaji Sule Kolo was drafted into the Foreign Service and was appointed Nigerian Permanent Representative to the European office of the United Nations in Geneva in 1966. In the same period, be was appointed Ambassador to Switzerland and accredited to Austria and Turkey between 1966 and 1974. The tested and reliable diplomat was moved to London as Nigerian High Commissioner to the U.K and Ambassador to Ireland from 1970 to 1975. He also served as the Chairman, General Agreement of Tariffs and Trade (GATT); Direaor International Atomic Energy Association (IAEA) in 1969; andFellow,RqyalSocietyofArts(RSA). Back home and afierretirement, Alhaji Sule Kolo became the President of the Plateau State Chambers of Commerce.
