Dr. Amadi is an example of the fruitful blending of intellectual achievement and business acumen. Starting his post-doctorate professional career as a researcher and educator, having acquired his first degree from the University of Ibadan in 1967, and subsequently rising to the position of Associate Professor and Director of Programmes, Dr. Amadi was to channel his abundant creative energies to management and communications consulting, impelled by an overriding need to achieve practical solutions to the perennial developmental problems facing the African continent generally, and Nigeria, specifically. Dr. Amadi sees the Nigerian problem as essentially emanating from what he captioned the “betweenity,” “cosmetic literacy” and “paradigm paralysis” challenge, requiring a home-grown and innovative deconstruction approach. It is no wonder, therefore, that his professional colleagues fondly refer to him either as “the consultants’ consultant,” or “the Peter Drucker of management consulting in Africa”. Today, Dr. Amadi features among the world’s highly rated change management, good governance capacity building and leadership consultants, with a sub-specialty in accountability and anti-corruption interventions. He has, accordingly, been involved, for over four decades, in various high-level assignments, in Canada, the U.S.A., Nigeria and other parts of Africa. Specifically, Dr. Amadi has worked in both public and private sector establishments as export marketing and trade facilitation consultant, business executive, research fellow, information and public relations officer, civil servant, lecturer and public speaker, as well as a human resources development and management consultant. Dr. Amadi served the Imo State Government of Nigeria, from December 1990 to January 1992, as the Commissioner for Commerce, Industry, Works and Transport. As an international investment development expert, Dr. Amadi specializes in human resources and performance improvement in agriculture and natural resources, mining, sports development, community development, good governance and corporate transformation, strategic planning, as well as change management. Dr. Amadi is the author of two highly-rated books: African Libraries: Western Tradition and Colonial Brainwashing, published simultaneously in New Jersey, U.S.A. and London, U.K., in 1981, as well as Preparing for and Managing Your Retirement, 1991. He has also published several scholarly articles in reputable professional and academic journals. He is listed in Who's Who in Nigeria, the International Directory of Intellectuals, the Directory of Scholars and Specialists in Third World Studies, the Directory of International Biography, and the International Directory of Scholars and Specialists in African Studies. Dr. Amadi is currently the Chief Executive Officer, Dolf Madi International Consulting., Chief Executive Officer, Sub-Saharan Africa Solar Solutions Ltd, Founder and Publisher, Landmark Books Ltd., Chairman, Landmark Sports and Entertainment Promotions Ltd, as well as Founder and President, Self-Help Development Facilitators (SEDFA), a non-governmental development organization (NGDO), which was granted a Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council in 2011.
