Arch. Obong Victor Attah is a foremost and accomplished Architect and Politician. He was the Governor of Akwa Ibom State from May 29, 1999 to May 29, 2007. He was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party and one-time Chairman, Nigeria Governors' Forum (NGF). In November 2018, the Akwa Ibom State Government named the Ibom International Airport after Obong Victor Attah (now Victor Attah International Airport. This was in honour of his 80th birthday. He is widely recognised as the "Father of Modern Akwa Ibom State."
