Attended Christ the Kings and St. Dominies Primary Schools in his home town from 1935 to 1941, where he passed out with a standard six certificate. In 1945, he proceeded to the Military Teacher Training School at Teshie in Ghana from where he passed out with the Armed Forces Preliminary Certificate in 1951. In 1952. Hon. Odoemene passed the General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level examination. From 1961 to 1962, Chief Imo attended the Nigerian College of Arts, Science and Technology in Zaria and later in 1962, he at tended the Ahmadu Bello University, also in Zaria, from where he passed out in 1963 with a diploma certificate in physical and health education. In 1974, Mr. Imo obtained the MICRO Teaching Certificate from the Alvan Ikoku College of Education in Owerri. Biographical overview

in 1978, he rose to the rank of Vice-Principal. During his teaching career, Mr. Imo taught in various schools in some parts of the country. He was the games master in Kano province from 1962 and 1963. He also taught physical and health education at the Teacher Training College in Maru and Wudil. In addition to physical and health education, Chief Imo also taught literature in some secondary schools and teacher's training colleges in the then Eastern Region of the country. In 1979, Hon. Imo contested and won elections into House of Representatives on the NPP platform, representing the Ezinihitte constituency of Imo State. A christian by religion, Chief Imo is married and has seven children. His hobbies include playing lawn tennis and reading. Hon. Imo has visited Ghana and Egypt.
