He attended Abdu Zange Primary School, Keffi and Government College, Keffi, (1972—1977) before going to the United States of America where he obtained his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in architecture. He is an architect and Managing Director of Turaki (Nig.) Ltd. —his private company based in Keffi, Plateau State. He is married and takes tennis, reading and photography as hobbies.
