John Dara is a vibrant social activist and an advocate for peaceful co-existence, minority rights, the upliftment of disadvantaged people, and the mobilization of Nigerians for productivity and social transformation all over Nigeria. Over several years, he has been a courageous and consistent crusader for democracy and development in Kwara State and Nigeria. John Dara is a man of multiple heritage, a Christian Yoruba man from the Middle Belt of Northern Nigeria, he proudly wears his identity as a patriotic, detribalized, friendly and nationalistic Nigerian. His rich cultural background and heritage have made it easy for him to understand the pluralistic nature of Nigeria. John Dara is an enthusiastic bridge builder, always initiating schemes to build solidarity among people groups, and indeed eager to help turn Nigeria’s ethnic and religious diversity to strength, opportunities and wealth. John Dara is a former presidential aspirant under the platform of National Transformation Party (NTP) in the 2011 election. He has declared his intention to run for president in the forthcoming Presidential election under the Social Democratic Party (SDP) platform.
