Secretary General between 1950 and 1961. In between, as member of the UMBC be contested and won ekction into the Federal House of Representatives 1955 and was there fill 1959. From the House, he was made a Parliamentary Secretary between 1955 and 1956. He was also a dekgate to the London Constitutional Conference on Nigeriain1959. Though he was relieved of his duties as the Administrative Secretaryof the JosNA in September 1959,MrPatrick Dokotriis remembered as aforefront opposition kader of the Middk Belt who worked chsely with his party kadership to form aformidabk opposition tothe NPC After independence, he worked at the AmalgamatedTin Minesof NigeriaasLands Officerfrom 1964-1978. In the z Republic hejoined theNPP which won his Plateau State and he himself wona seat in the Houseof Assemblyfrom where he became the Majority Leader, from 1979 - 1983. After the nation wide ekctions of 1983, he was re-elected and this time he became the Speaker of the Plateau State Houseof Assembly.
