EBURUCHE, Dr. John

hails from Nguru in Imo State where he was born on September 15, 1940 into a christian family. After his elemen tary school career, Dr. Eburuche went to the Preliminary Teachers College, Emekuku, Owerri in 1952, and later, Bishop Shanahan Teacher Training College, Orlu from 1954 - 1957. He qualified as a teacher and was award ed the Teacher's Grade III Certificate in 1959. He took up teaching appointment from 1958 1959. In 1960 Dr. Eburuche studied privately and passed his General Certificate of Education examination at the ordinary level, while in 1963 he passed the sameexamination at the advanc ed level. Spurred by this success, Dr. Eburuche pro ceeded to United States in 1966 to study at the Tuskegee Institute, Tuskegee. Alabama. He graduated in 1968 with an Honours degree in Science. He obtained a Masters degree in Economics in 1970 and a Doctorate degree in Economics in 1972 both from Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan. He also obtained through correspondence an LLB degree in 1972. He was employed as a lecturer Grade II in 1976 and promoted Lecturer Grade Iin 1977. Dr. Eburuche married former Miss Rosanna A. Awusah in December 1963 and they have five children. Dr. Eburuche's profession is his main hobby and subjects like economics, finance and accountancy occupy most of his spare time. He is a member of the N.P.P. and represents Agbaja/Uvuru Constituency of Imo State in the House of Representatives.
