EFFIONG, Sen Nelson Asuquo

Senator Nelson Asoquo Effiong attended Methodist Boys High School where he obtained his WASC. He then proceeded to the University of Houston where he obtained his bachelors degree in 1978. He went further to get his Masters degree from the same University in 1980. As a legislator he has belonged to the following committees; Primary Health Care committee & committee for Communicable Diseases. He has as his legislative interest, Marine Transport, Niger Delta Development, Education and Sports. He however targets to push through legislation that will enhance the well-being of Nigerians. He began his political journey by getting elected as a member of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly from 1992 to 1993 and for another term of 2003 to 2007. In the 2015 elections he contested for the Awka Ibom South senatorial seat and won under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) In January, 2019, He decamped from the PDP to APC Prior to coming into politics, he was a real estate developer, hotelier.
