FOLORUNSHO, Hon. Yunusa, Ayinla

Honourable Yunusa Ayinla Folorunsho represents Asa Federal Constituency, Kwara State, in the House of Representatives and is a member of the National Party of Nigeria. He was born on 17th March, 1940 at Alapa in Asa Local Government Area. He is a muslim and one of the nine children of his father. His father, Alhaji Yahaya Akanbi, hails from Alapa in Asa and is a Koranic teacher. Honourable Folorunsho started his primary education at the Alapa Primary School in 1948 and completed it at the Baboko Primary School in 1954. He later attended the following teachers' training institutions: Bida Teachers' College (1955 - 1957); llorin Teachers' College (1961-1962); Bauchi Rural Education Centre (1964); Minna Rural Education Centre (1965); and the Institution of Administration, Zaria from 1966 to 1967. He then went to study Sociology at the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, from 1974 to 1977! A trained teacher with Grades II and I teachers' certificates, Honourable Folorunsho taught from 1958 to 1966 and then worked as an Education Officer with Local Education Authority from 1967 to 1972. He was promoted to the post of Chief Education Officer in 1972. In 1974, he worked as Secretary to Kogi Local School Board and in 1978 he was appointed Assistant Secretary with the Local Government Service Board. Ho held this post until he was elected a member of the House of Representatives. Fie is married to former Miss Rebecca Ebun Olabanji. They have seven children. His hobbies are reading, lawn tennis, and table tennis.
