Hon Atahiru Maker! Dakin Gari, was bom in Dakin Gari, Sokoto State in 1932. His father Alhaji Abubakar, a farmer and his mother-Hqn Katsumatu all hailed from Dakin Gar,. His father ldren while his mother has four. Astaunch muslim, Hon. Dakin Gari attended primary school in his home town - Dakin Gar. from 1942 to 1946. As soon as he completed his primary school education, he decided to take to trading. .. He has two wives - Hajia Aisha and Hajia Hauwau — and six children. Alhaji Makeri Dakin Gari is a member of the Great Nigeria Peoples Party and represents Dakin Gari Constituency in Sokoto State in the House of Representatives.
