UWAGBOE, Hon. B. I.

Hon. B. I. Uwagboe was born on March 20, 1922 at Iguobazuwa in Bendel State. His mother, Iserhenrhen had three children while his father, Uwagboe Osibo has six. Hon. Uwagboe attended Catholic School, Benin City between 1930 and 1938. The follow ing year he left for Lagos and was admitted to the Eko Boys' High School where he remained till 1941. A veteran politician, Hon. Uwagboe, who is also a large poultry farmer, was a Councillor in lyekovia District Council, Bendel State bet ween 1958 and 1961. He was also member of the Mid-West (now Bendel State) House of Assembly from 1964-66. However, following the military take-over in 1966, he became a member of the Benin West Divisional Council. When the ban on politics was lifted in 1979, he contested and won an election on the plat form of the National Party of Nigeria and now represents Ovia constituency, Bendel State, in the House of Representatives. He is married to both Janet and Unice and they have four children. Hon. Uwagboe has visited among other places Europe, India, North Africa, South Africa and Asia. He loves playing table tennis.
