Hon. (Chief) Efiom Ita Efiom was born at Nkitta - Okoyong, Cross Rivers State on March 12, 1936, the only child of his parents. He married former Miss Sarah Etim Okon a Staff Nurse/Midwife in July 1971. They are blessed with four children. Hon. Efiom attended Akpap C.S.M. School from 1944 to 1949 and the B.V.S. Ididep. Itu in 1950. He was determined to further his studies; he therefore proceeded to Enugu where he at tended St. George's College between 1952 and 1955. Hon. Efiom obtained the A.C.I, in 1955, A.M.B.I.M. and A.M.N.I.M. between 1969 and 1970. Between 1955 and 1977, he worked in the civil service of the former Eastern Nigeria and former South Eastern State. During the same period, he also worked with some firms like Voteni'ski Nigeria Ltd., Jos, and Calrivco Nig. Ltd., Calabar. He was appointed a Supervisory Councillor between 1977 and 1979. A devoted christian, Chief Efiom is always deeply associated with various development projects in his community. He is, in fact, the current President of the Okoyong Development League. He has visited Britain, U.S.A., Switzerland and Kuwait. At his leisure, he plays table tennis
