OMEKE, Hon. David A.

Hon. David A. Omeke was born on the 1st of April 1932. He is a member of the Nigeria People's Party and represents Igbo-Eze Constituency of Anambra State in the House. He was educated at the Primary School Ogrute, Enugu - Ezike, 1946 - 1952; Medical Training School, Makurdi; 1953; Health School of Technology, Oji River, 1960, and he has cer tificates in Rural Health and Pharmacy. He also trained and worked as a Pharmacy Assistant under Public Health Department of the Ministry of Health, Anambra State, until his voluntary retirement in 1979. On the political scene, he was elected a Local Councillor in 1951 when he was only 19 years old. He was also elected to represent his ward in Essode Community Council in 1972. Development Union. He also founded a musical band which was named Omekes Star Orchestra in 1960. He got married in 1955 to the former Miss Eunice Oyima Abugu, a trader and they have Eight children. His father Mr. Omeke Ukwaba, a farmer has fifteen children. His mothor is Madam Obota Ukwaba from Ufodo. He has visited London, USA and Algeria. He is a Roman Catholic and his hobbies are music and hunting.
