AFATYO, Hon. David Terrumun

Hon. David Terrumun Afatyo was born on the 27th of December 1945 at Mbalagh in Benue State. He is a christian by religion and one of the 21 children of Mr. Afatyo Ajoko. His mother, Madam Nahum Afatyo Ipav, had seven children. He got married, to his wife, Mrs. Mchianan Afatyo, on the 3rd of April 1967. He has three children. Hon. Terrumun Afatyo attended the follow ing educational institutions: N.A. Junior Primary School, Mbatie, 1955-58; N.A. Senior Primary School, Vandeikya, 1959-61; Govern ment Teachers College, Keffi, 1964-68; Ad vanced Teachers College, Kano, 1971-74; Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (Sandwich), 1975-1979. He takes interest in reading and story telling. He won a seat in the House of Represen tatives on the ticket of the National Party of Nigeria, and represents Gboko East. Hon. Afatyo has a Grade II Teachers Cer tificate (1968), a Nigeria Certificate of Educa tion (1974) and a Bachelor's degree in Educa tion (1979). He was a village school headmaster between 1969-1970. He became an Assistant Education Officer in 1974 and a Senior Assistant Educa tion Officer in 1976. In 1978, he became an Education Officer. As part of his professional experience, Hon. Afatyo was a tutor, Bristow College, Gboko (1974-1975): Head of Education Department, G.T.C. Zaki-Biam (1976); Educational Ad ministrator, Katsina Ala (1977); Principal, and Staff School, A.T.C. K/Ala (1978).
