TORO, Hon. Isa Yakubu

Honourable Isa Yakubu Toro was born in 1949 in Toro, Bauchi State. He has been stongly influenced by the social problems of his society in general. He had his elementary schooling at the Gymzo Junior Primary School in Toro from 1957 to 1961 and the Senior Primary School, Darazo from 1962 to 1963. He then attended the Government College, Keffi, from 1964 to 1968 where he obtained his West African School Certificate. Hon. Toro did an in-service training at the Weights and Measures Institute, Oshodi from 1969 to 1971. He was briefly at the University of Ibadan in 1977 and at Eich Amt, Hanover in Western Germany where he obtained a Profes sional Certificate in 1978. He was employed as an Assistant Inspector for Weights and Measures in Training in 1968, promoted Substantive Assistant Inspector in 1971, Inspector in 1974and Higher Inspector of Weights and Measures in October, 1978. He withdraw from the service in February 1979 to engage in politics. He won election into the House of Representatives as a member of the N.P.N. He is married to Hadiza T. Isa and they have two children. Honourable Isa Yakubu Toro is one of the eleven children of Mallam Yakubu Abdullahi, a farmer, born in 1909 at Toro and Mallama Asama'u Yakubu, a housewife. He is a Moslem. Honourable Toro has travelled to Benin Republic, Chad, the Cameroun, and Italy. Among his many hobbies are travelling and reading.
