OKOYE, Hon. John Okechukwu

Hon. John Okechukwu Okoye was born in 1935 at Agulueze-Chukwu, Aguata in Anambra State. He is one of the six children of Mr. Okoye and Madam Ukan-nwa Okeke, both farmers at Agulueze-Chukwu village. In 1953, he obtained his Standard six Cer tificate after having had his primary school education at the Agulueze-Chukwu, Oke and 12 Ekwuluobia primary schools. Hon. Okoye served as a divisional Councillor from 1960 to 1963 and in 1972, he served as a Community Councillor - a post he held until 1974. In 1979, when the country was getting ready for the return to civil rule, Hon. Okoye, representing the Aguata south Constituency of Anambra State, contestedandwon election into the House of Representatives on the NPP platform. A christian by faith, Hon. Okoye is married and he has five children. His hobby is farming.
