ABIONA, Hon. Joseph Adekola

Honourable Joseph Abiona was born at Ada, in Oshun Division of Oyo State on December 25 1933. He attended Baptist Primary School, Ada from 1939-1947. He was admitted into the Ibadan Grammar School in 1950 and obtained a Cambridge School Certificate in 1954. He entered the Baptist College, Iwo in 1955 and was awarded a Teachers Grade II Certificate in 1956. He entered the.University of Ibadan in 1958 and obtained a B.A. Hon (London) degree in 1963. Between 1966 and 1970, Honourable Abiona served as the Principal of Oke Iragbiji Grammar School. In 1971 he was briefly the principal of Igboora High School and later from 1971 - 1975, the principal of Iganmode Grammar School, Otta. He joined the Ashamu Group of Companies in 1976 as a Tranining Manager. A christian by faith, Honourable Joseph Abiona is married to Comfort Ajibike and they have five children. His parents, Mr. Abraham Abiona, a farmer with thirteen children hailed from Ada in Oyo State. His mother, Madam Comfort Oyesunwon, a trader, also from Ada, had four children. He represents Ifelodun East Constituency on the platform of Unity Party of Nigeria in the House of Representatives.
