Hon. Kachalla Damaturu was born in 1932 at Damaturu, Borno State. He is a muslim and his parents, Mohammed Mala and Hajiya Hamsatu, had 10children. Hon. Kachalla attended the Damaturu Elementary School from 1941 - 1945 and the Borno Middle School from 1946 - 1951. He obtained the Higher Elementary Certificate from the Bauchi Teachers' College in 1960. Once a teacher/headmaster with the Borno Local Authority, Hon. Kachalla retired from the 'chalk' profession in 1967 to form A.K. Damaturu £r Sons Limited. He was the chair man of the company before becoming a politi cian. He is married to Hajiya Kallu and Hajia Aisa and they have five children. Tchad, Cameroun, Republic of Benin, Saudi Arabia and Britain are some of the countries he has visited. A member of the Great Nigeria Peoples' Party, Hon. Kachalla represents Damaturu, Borno State in the House of Representatives. His hobbies are hunting and football.
