MA’AJI, Hon. Maina

Hon. Maina Ma'aji was born on July 12, 1954 at Kauwa, Borno State. His father, Alhaji Lawan Madiyi was the village head of Kauwa. He had twenty eight children. Hon. Maina Ma'aji was influenced in his for mative years by the Islamic culture. He attend ed the Kukawa Primary School from 1962 1967. He Obtained the West African School Certificate from Government College, Keffi in 1972 and in 1977, he received the B.Sc. (Business Administration) degree of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He was an Assistant Registrar of Co operative, Minist.y of Trade and Industry, Boi no State in 1978. He has also worked as Pur chasing Manager, Cooperative Consumer Stores, Borno State before opting for politics. Hon. Maina Ma'aji is inclined to socialist prin ciples and he has completed a thesis on bank ing operations in Nigeria. He married Ya Gana in 1977 and they havetwo children. His hobbies are reading, tennis and hunting. He has visited the Chad, Niger, Cameroun and Benin Republic. Hon. Maina Ma'aji is a member of the G.N.P.P. and represents Kukawa South East, Borno State in the House of Representatives.
