ALTINE, Hon. Mamman

Hon. Altine is representing Tangaza Constituency, Sokoto State, in the House of Representatives. He is a member of the Na tional Party of Nigeria. He was born into a muslim family in 1947 at Tangaza in Silame Local Government Area of Sokoto State. He is one of the nine children of Mr. M. Hamidu, a farmer. His mother Madam Fadimatu Hamidu, has six of them. He attended Tangaza Town Primary School from 1958 — 1965. He then proceeded to Sokoto Teachers' College in 1969 and obtained his Grade II Teachers' Certificate in 1973. He worked as a Headmaster in Karfen Sarki Primary School in 1973, and also in other schools, until he was elected a member of the House of Representatives. He has two wives and four children. He has visited Ghana and the Republic of Niger.
