SHAMAKI, Hon. Mohammed Gadau

Honourable Shamaki represents Katagum West Constituency of Bauchi State in the House of Representatives. He is a member of the N.P.N. Born on November 26, 1945, Honourable Shamaki hails from Itas in the Katagum Local Government Area of Bauchi State. His father, Alhaji Sale Shamaki, has fifteen chidlren, while his mother Mrs. Fadimatu Abdu Shamaki has nine of them. He started his primary education at the Itas Junior Primary School in 1955 and completed it at the Azare Boarding Senior Primary School in 1961. Alhaji Shamaki obtained his Grade II Teachers' Certificate from Toro Teachers' Col lege in 1971. He later obtained the Advanced Certificate of Education in 1977 from Bristol University School of Education, United Kingdom. He taught in various primary schools until he became an Inspector of Education in the Ministry of Education, Bauchi State in 1978 and held this post until he was elected a member of the House of Representatives. Married to three wives, Alhaji Shamaki has eight children. He has visited Saudi Arabia and England. He is a moslem and his hobbies are hockey, scouting and athletics.
