IJAOLA, Olugbolahan

Hon. Olugbolahan Ijaola, a Christian, was born in Kano on September 28, 1933. He is a native of Owu, Abeokuta. He got married to the former Miss Enitan Abimbola Litan and has six children, three boys and three girls. He schooled at the Owu Baptist Day School, Abeokuta from 1940.- 1948 and at the Baptist Boy's High School, Abeokuta from 1949-1952. In June, 1961 he obtained his final Corpora tion of Secretary Certificate and became an Associate Member (ACCS) in March 1962. He passed his Associate Membership of the Chartered Institute of Secretary and Ad ministrators examinations in April 1970. He joined the Nigerian Railway Corporation on the 28th January 1953 and became one of its Audit Examiners in July 1960. He was pro moted Assistant Secretary-in-training in 1962 and Assistant Secretary in 1965. He served 'from 1970-1979 as a member of the Council of Chartered Institute of Secretaries. His interest are walking, singing, football, farm management and in-door games. Hon. Ijaola was the founder and first secretary, OwuBoysClub, Abeokuta in August 1952. He became the Secretary of Sadu Boys and Girls Club, Yaba from 1955 - 1959 and was also member of the Association of Cor poration of Secretaries, Nigerian Governing Council. He was secretary to the Yaba Baptist Church from 1970-1972, secretary of the Bap tist Boys High School, Abeokuta Old Boys Association, Lagos Branch, (1971-1979) and secretary to the Lagos State Baptist Con ference from March 1973-1975. ' He won a seat in the House of Represen tatives on the platform of the Unity Party of Nigeria for Lagos North-East.
