Hon. Peter Chidozie Okeke, a member of tne Fedeva\ V\ovys.<& cA Representatives, was born on June 26, 1943 at Ihe in Awgu, Anambra State. He was elected to the House on the platform of the Nigeria People's Party to represent Awgu North, East and West Constituency. He obtained his First School Leaving Cer tificate in 1956 after attending St. Mary's School, Ihe from 1950 - 1956 and the Grade "C" Teacher's Certificate in 1957 from the P.T.C. Agbogugu, Anambra State. Hon. Okeke also went to Our Lady of Lourdes Teacher Training College from 1959 — 1962. He had his Grade II Teacher's Certificate and the R.S.A. Stage II Intermediate Diploma in 1965. He also passed the G.C.E. examination at ordinary level in 1976. He was promoted Headmaster Grade III in January 1970. After 21 years of teaching from 1958 to 1979 he decided to go into politics. His experience extended however beyond the teaching profession. He is a trade unionist and was general secretary for the then East Central State Grade II Teachers' Association from 1974 - 76. He was also the State Treasurer for the Nigerian Union of Teachers from 1975 - 1977 and Chairman of the Ihe Town Union, Enugu Branch. Hon. Okeke got married to former Miss Appolon. a Ude. They have two children. He loves farming, hunting and the organization of com munity projects. Hon Okeke is a Roman catholic. He is one of the five children of Mr. Okeke Eko a farmer at Ihe village, Awgu. His mother is Madam Mgbokwo Okeke.
