KONDUGA, Hon. Alhaji Sanda

Hon. Alhaji Sanda Konduga is a member of the Great Nigeria People's Party, representing Konduga Constituency of Borno State in the House of Representatives. He was born in 1936 at Mairamri, Konduga Local Government Area to the late Alhaji Lawan Mustafa, the village head of Mairamri village. His father had 35 children while his mother, Haja Hauwa had nine. He started schooling at the Konduga Elemen tary School in 1946 and completed it at the Yerwa Elementary School in 1950. He was at the Borno Middle School between 1951 and 1953 and the Bukuru Technical School from 1953 to 1957. He also had an in-service training in building engineering at the Assistant Works Superintendent School, Kaduna, between 1961 and 1962. Hon. Konduga joined the Northern Nigeria Civil Service as a manual Training Instructor with the Ministry of Education, Technical Divi sion in 1958. He was transfered to the Ministry of Works in 1962 and was promoted Works Superintendent (Building) in 1965. Alhaji Konduga was deployed to the then North-Eastern State Civil Service in 1968 and was promoted to the rank of Higher Works Superintendent on 1st October 1972. He was later seconded to the North-East College of Arts and Science in April 1973 for a period of two years as an Estate Officer and the Head of the Estate Department of the Institution. After the breaking of the North-Eastern State into three states, he was redeployed to the Bor no State Civil Service in 1976. He left the service in 1976 to become a member of the Konduga Local Government Council. Alhaji Konduga went into politics in 1978 and he is the Vice-Chairman of the Great Nigeria Peoples Party in Borno State and the leader of the Party in the House of Representatives. He has three wives and 19 Children —eleven males and eight females. He has visited Europe, America and the Mid dle East. His hobbies are lawn tennis, cricket, hockey ana basket ball.
