HAMZAT, Hon. Alhaji Shehu

Hon. Alhaji Shehu Hamzat was born in 1951 at Tangaza Town of Sokoto State. He is a member of the Federal House of Represen tatives and he represents Sokoto Constituency of Sokoto State. He is a member of the Na tional Party of Nigeria. Alhaji Hamzat's father, Mr. Hamza Muham madu, is a traditional ruler in Sokoto. He was born in 1925 and has three wives and 23 children. His mother Alhaja Aishatu Hamzat is from Tangaza and was born in 1938. She has three children. After tne successful completion of his primary school at Tangaza Day Primary School from 1957 to 1964, he went to Government Craft School from 1965 to 1966. He also attend ed the Sultan Abubakar College, Sokoto from 1966 to 1971. He has a Teachers' Grade II Cer tificate. He went to Kaduna Polytechnic in 1977.
