GARO, HON. UMARU SULE

Honourable Umaru Sule Garo was born in January 1953 at Garo in the Gwarzo Local Government Area of Kano State. He is a muslim. His guardians are Alhaji Sule G. Garo of Gude in Gwarzo district and Malama Maria Salihu. He had a three-year elementary schooling at Garo from 1960 to 1963 and then went to the Gwarzo Boarding Middle School from 1964 to 1966. > He attended the Wudil Teacher's College from 1967 to 1971, and had an in-service train ing from 1972 to 1973/ Two years later, he enrolled at the Advanced Teacher's College, Ahmadu Bello University, Kano, from 1975 to 1979 where he obtained his National Certificate of Education. Honourable Garo was made a Headmaster in Kara Primary School from 1973 to 1974. He is married and has three children. Among his hobbies are Islamic studies and travelling. He won his election into the Federal House of Representatives on the ticket of the P.R.P. He represents the Shanono Contituency in Kano State.
