HUSSAINI, Alhaji Yakubu

was born on September 1st, 1937 in Gagdi, Kanam Local Government Area. He < attended PrimarySchools at Dengiand Kuru between 1949-54. He also atten ded the Provincial Secondary Schools, Kuru 1955-56 and proceeded for a Clerical Course at Zaria in 1958. Bet ween 1959-61, Alhaji Hussaini atten ded Secretarial and Administrative Courses at the Institute of Administra tion, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He was Chief Scribe/CouncilSecretary, Kanam and later Local Govemment , Secretary, Kanam between 1957-60. Alhaji Hussaini also worked as Execu tive Officer in the Administrator's t Office Kaduna from 1961-63. He later became District Officer inchaige of ^ - Provincial Offices in Kabba and Katsina Provinces respectively, bet ween 1963-64 before he was transfer red to the Federal Public Service in 1965, where he served in various ** capacities until 1974 when he was appointed a Civil Commissioner and member of the Executive Council of the then Benue-Plateau State. In addi tion, Alhaji Yakubu Hussaini was appointed the first Chairman of Jos Metropolitan Development Board in 1975. Between 1977, Alhaji Hussaini worked with Roads Nigeria limited as Area Public Relations Manager. He •;• was elected in July 1979 as a legislator into a the Plateau State House of v' Assembly, where he bad. been .until • May 1, 1980 when he was appointed i Commissioner for Establishments, Training and Service Matters. He is c married with eleven children.
