Alhaji llya Ibrahim represents Kiyawa Federal Constituency of Kano State. He was born in 1942 in his home town, Katanga in Kano State. He attended Borno Provincial Secondary School from 1959 to 1953. Between 1963 and 1964 he was at the School of Agriculture, Zaria. He went for a professional course in Arabic from 1964—1965 in Kano and later an overseas professional course in International Affairs from 1978 to 1980. He is a businessman. Alhaji Ibrahim is married with seven female children. His hobbies include travelling, trade unionism, politics and farming.
