IGWE, Mr. Emmanuel Chukwuemeka

Anambra State Commissioner for Trade and Co-operatives was born in September 1941 and hails from Ukehe in the Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area. He began his elementary education in 1947 at St. Patrick's Primary School, Ogbete, Enugu and finished in 1955 at St. John's Primary School, Agbogugu in Awgu Local Government Area. He gained admission into the Col lege of Immaculate Conception (C.I.C.), Enugu in 1956 where he also successfully completed his secondary education in 1960. He later studied Economics at the London School of Economics between 1970 and 1973 and obtained the B.Sc. (Hons.) Econ. He had his master's degree at Leeds University the follow ing year. Mr. Igwe has a very rich working experience; he worked at the Barclay's Bank, Enugu (1960-64), National Savings Bank, Harogate, England, 1966-70; Mobil Oil Corporation (June 1972 - September 1972); Lecturer, University of Nigeria (1975 - October 1979). He has held the membership, direc torship and presidency of several statutory bodiesin the country. He has attended a course in Project Planning Appraisal at the University of Bradford, England. Married with one child, Mr. Igwe is an Associate Member of the Institute of Bankers.
