Cally Terwase
Cally Terwase Ikpe is a veteran broadcaster, culture activist and event manager. He is reputed for creating and anchoring one of Nigeria’s earliest music video shows on television, Live Beats that debuted on NTA, Channel 5, in 1995. The pogramme served as a spring board for many budding arts to showcase their talent. Mr. Ikpe is also the founder and coordinator of Nigeria’s first ever music video awards, the annual Nigeria Music Video Awards (NMVA) which premiered on 2nd December 2007. Also to his credit is the NGO, Youth Culture and Human Dignity Initiative (YOCHDI), a body instituted to promote the culture of nonviolence amongst youth. The advocacy campaign is known as the Violence Free-World Initiative.
Mr. Ikpe who hails from Benue State, holds a Bachelor of Arts (English language), from the Lagos State University, PGD (Mass Communication), from the University of Lagos and an MSC (Media and Communication) from the School of Media and Communication- Pan Atlantic University, Lagos. He is at the moment researching on the culture of violence as a doctoral scholar at the Pan-Atlantic University, Lagos
Cally Ikpe is married to Tina, and together they are blessed with four children: Isabella, Caeser, Anabel and Christabel.
