Born October 9, 1931, in Ukpom Ekpene Inuen, Ikono Local Government area, Cross River State; Education: Holy Family College, Abak, Cross River State, 1947-51; obtained London Matriculation Certificate in five sub jects; GCE "A" level certificate 1956; University of Wales, (Cardiff College) UK obtained B.A. (Economics, Law and Accountancy) Articles of Clerk ship in Cardiff, Wales with a firm of Chartered Accountants 1960-63: passed Associate Member of Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (A.C.A.); Qualifications: B.A. (Wales), FCA (England and Wales; Nigeria) 1975; Experience: Primary School teacher 1951-52; Audit Clerk, Government Audit Department, Examiner of Accounts, 1952-57; Eastern Nigeria Ministiy of Finance as Senior Accountant, 196364; Lecturer T, University of Nigeria, Nsukka 1964-67; General Manager, South Eastern State (now Cross River State) Marketing Board 1968-71; founding and precedent partner in E. Udo-Umo and Co. (Chartered Accoun tants); member of many commissions of inquiry, 1966-67; 1970-71; Coun cillor, Ikomo Local Government coun cil, Cross River State, 1976-79. Mar ried with five children; elected NPN member for Ikono in House of Representatives.
