ISANDU, Mr. Akubaka E

was born in Rukuba, Bassa Local Govern ment Area. He started his Primary School at Zagun in Rukuba and com pleted at the S.I.M. Primary School, Kagoro, Kaduna State between 1942- 46. Between 1950-57, he attended the School of Nursing, Vom. He worked as a Staff Nurse at the General Hospi tal (now Murtala Mohammed Hospital) Jos between 1958-59. Between 1961- 64, Mr Isandu was elected into the Federal Parliament in Lagos and later became a" Parliamentary Secretary. He waslater appointed Officer-incharge of the Federal Prisons of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, between 1964-66. From 1967, he served as the Council lor for Local Government in the then Jos Local Authority Area until 1975. During the same period (1967-70), he studied privately and passed Advanced General Certificate of Education papers in Government and Economics respectively. In 1971 he attended an advanced course in Local Government Administration at the University of Ife. Before his present appointment, he was the Chairman of the Plateay State Health Services Management Board. He was appointed Commissioner on October 9th, 1979. He is married with eight children (five sons and three daughters).
