Mr. Usman Ahmadu Jalingo a nominated member of the Assembly was born on June 4, 1944, in his home town, Jalingo, Gongola State. After his secondary education, he went to Ruskin College, Oxford, 1969-1971. From 1971 to 1974 he attended the University of Leeds. He later went to the University of Edinburgh for higher degrees between 1974 and 1980. Mr. Jalingo is a Senior Lecturer and Head of Political Science Department, Bayero University, Kano. He is a member of the Governing Council of the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs and a former Secretary to the Gongola State Government. A veteran trade unionist, Mr. Jalingo is married with three children. His hobbies are scouting and swimming.
