Tijjani Yahaya Kaura. Celebrity Tijjani Yahaya Kaura – a former Minister, SSG and Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (Zamfara North) was born on February 3, 1959. He is an indigene of k/namoda Local government Area of Zamfara State.
Senator Tijjani Kaura attended Mohamed Asha PS in 1975, he went to Government Teacher’s College, Bakora in 1980. Senator Tijjani Kaura attended College of Education, Sokoto in 1985 and proceeded to Ahmadu Bello University to obtain his degree in 1989. In 2016, Senator Tijjani Kaura obtained his Masters in Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna State.Senator Tijjani Kaura was the Chairman of Kaura Namoda Local Government Area, Zamfara State for two terms under the Platform of N.R.C Party from 1991-1993. When Zamfara State was created by Late President Sani Abacha in 1996, Senator Tijjani Kaura contested for the Chairmanship Seat of Kaura Namoda L.G.A and he won. He was Chairman From 1997-1998 under the Platform of U.N.C.P Party. Sen. Tijjani Y. Kaura contested the Senatorial Seat in 1991 under the PDP but he was not successful. Former President Olusegun Obasanjo appointed Sen. Tijjani Y.Kaura as the Co-ordinator National Poverty Eradication Programme (NAPEP) representing Zamfara State. He was also appointed as the Federal Commissioner – National Population Commission of Nigeria from 2001-2003. In 2003, Sen. Tijjani Y. Kaura contested for the Senatorial Seat and again he was not successful.
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo re-appointed Sen. Tijjani Y. Kaura as the Federal Commissioner – National Population Commission representing Zamfara State from 2003-2007.
In 2007, Late President Umar Musa ‘Yar Adua appointed Sen. Tijjani Y. Kaura as the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Sen. Tijjani Yahaya Kaura left the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) to the All Progressive Congress(APC). He was made the Secretary to State Goverment (SSG) of Zamfara State a month after he left PDP. In 2015, under the platform of the All Progressive Congress(APC), he contested for the Senatorial Seat in Zamfara North Constituency and won. Senator Tijjani Yahaya Kaura is currently the Senator representing Zamfara North Senatorial District in the Red Chamber in the 8th Assembly.
