CHAIRMAN UNIPETROL NIGERIA PLC Major General Mohammed Magoro was bom on tbe 7* May, 1941 atMahuta headquarters of Faskal,in Zuru Emirate, He attended MahutaJunior Primay School, 1950 -1953; Kontagora Senior Primay School, 1954-56; Niger Provincial Seconday School Bida, 1957-62; Indian Militay Academy, 1963-65; Platoon Weapons Course School of InfantyMHOWIndia, 1964;physicalEducation course, school ofphysicalEducation POONA, India, 1964;Mortar Platoon Commanders course NMTC Kaduna, 1965;Junior Staff Colkge, Britain, 1971;Army CommandandStaffColkge,Jaji 1977andGraduate, UnitedStatesArmy WarColkge, Class of 82. Heenlisted into the Nigerian Army in 1962, Sincejoining the army, he has held various commandandstaffpositions such as: Commander of aplatoon and company in 4 Battalion Nigeria Army, 1964-67 Commander 5 Battalion NigerianI'Army Rear 1967-68, Commanding Officer, 122Battalion, Nigerian Army, 1969-70; Brigade Major30 Brigade NigerianArmy, 1970-72; commands, 4 Brigade NigerianArmy, 1972-73; Commander, 3 Brigade Nigerian Army, 1974; CommanderI Division TrainingSchool, 1974 andlater 1Division Garrison, 1974;AssistantAdjutant General, 1 Division Nigerian Army, 1974-75,-Coknel General Staff, 3 Division Nigerian Army 1978-1979, Commander Brigade of Guards 1979-81 and Commandant Nigerian Army School of Infantry, 1982-83. Additionally, Major GeneralMagoro had held otherpositions whik inservice such as: Militayport Commandant Apapa, 1975,FederalCommissionerof Transport, 1976 -78 andMinisterofInternalAffain, 1984-85fromwhere he retired in 1985from the Nigerian Army. After hk retirement, be was appointed the pioneer Chairman of tbe NationalMartimeAuthority, 1987-91 andis currently tbe Chairman of UnipetrolNigeriaPk During bis course of service in the Nigerian Army, Major Gen. Magoro received various decorations such asForce Service Star, National ServiceMedalandRoyalty courageand disciplineMedal Heisamemberof the UnitedStatesArmy WarCollegeAlumniandNigerian Institute of InternationalAffairs. GeneralMajorhasjoinedthe kague of the North's industrialgiants by making resources availabkforthe establishment of opportunitiesforNigerians.
