Alhaji Abubakar Mashegu a nominated member of the Assembly, was born on the 1st of January,1927 in Mashegu, his home town, in Niger State. He attended Kontagora Elementary School, (1937 to 1941) and Niger Middle School, Bida, (1941 to 1946). Alhaji Mashegu was awarded M.B.E. on January 1, 1962 and also appointed Shettima of Kontagora on the 1st of January, 1983. He has served Nigeria in various capacities from 1946 to 1986. He was a member, Constitution Review Committee (CRC). He is married with six children and his hobbies are soccer, hockey, cricket, and horse riding.
